Activities

Jungle Ziplining and Cavetubing

Gear up for an exhilarating experience through the rainforest as you travel on cables from tree to tree for 45 minutes. Throughout this journey, you’ll get acquainted with some of Belize’s tropical trees and get aerial views of your natural surroundings. Next, start your tubing expedition with a 30-minute trail walk along the riverside until you reach beautiful turquoise waters. Strap on your gear, and gently float downstream into a cave where your guide will tell you all about Maya history and cave features including giant rock formations and cave conversions.

Climb a Maya Temple

Hike up to Xunantunich and Cahal Pech Maya Temples imagining what life was like hundreds of years ago.  You can listen to the San Ignacio Resort Hotel expert tour guide Cruz as he educates you on Mayan cultures and traditions. From the top of the tallest ruin, El Castillo you can see all the way to Guatemala. The Xunantunich and Cahal Pech temples are two very popular sites amongst archaeologists and you will still find them excavating today during certain times of the year.

Horseback Ride in Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve

In this 300-square mile forest reserve you will find a scenic combination of cool pine forest, tumbling waterfalls, lush river valleys, and numerous cave formations. Experiences here include exploration of the Rio Frio Cave, Rio on Pools, Big Rock Falls, and the breathtaking Hidden Valley Falls—a narrow chute of water falling over 1,000 feet.

Romantic Evenings

After a day of adventure, return back and enjoy an in-suite Couple’s Massage.  Re-energize, relax and linger in your private jacuzzi on the balcony with a glass of champagne and watch the stars come out over the jungle. Live music can be enjoyed on the patio of Running W Steakhouse & Restaurant where local singers and bands will serenade you as you enjoy a rainforest cocktail (secret recipe) or Purple Parrot (Blue curaçao, vodka, pineapple and grenadine).  Dinner at Running W Steakhouse & Restaurant includes great cuts such as the black angus rib eye or the 21-day aged Running W Brand Meats premium NY strip and appetizers including the Lebanese sample platter of lamb kebab, vegetables, pita bread and the family’s own hummus recipe.
