Since 1886, The Calgary Stampede celebrates the people, the animals, the land, the traditions and the values that make up the unique spirit of the west. The ten-day event, which bills itself as “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”, attracts over one million visitors per year and features one of the world’s largest rodeos, a parade, midway, stage shows, concerts, agricultural competitions, chuckwagon racing and First Nations exhibitions.
This annual event contributes to the quality of life in Calgary and southern Alberta through the world-renowned Stampede, year-round facilities, western events and several youth and agriculture programs. Exemplifying the theme Weâre Greatest Together; they are a volunteer-supported, not-for-profit community organization that preserves and promotes western heritage and values. All revenue is reinvested into programs and facilities.
