October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will do their part to raise public consciousness about the disease with a series of initiatives throughout the month. The luxury property, situated on Brickell Key on the banks of Biscayne Bay, Miami plans a multi-pronged approach to commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month through restaurant offerings and a special spa package.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will offer a cross-promotion package with the hotel’s signature restaurant, La Mar by Gaston Acurio, encapsulating the themes of health and inner strength. The spa component includes the “Inner Strength” treatment — designed to ease physical tension and emotional anxiety following a stressful time in one’s life — followed by a four-course healthy dinner at La Mar.  On the menu created by Executive Chef Diego Oka, guests will sample Tiradito NikkeiVegetable Causa, half a fresh Branzino and a small Key Lime Pie for dessert.

Spa appointments will be available between 2 and 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. The package costs USD 325 per person and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Additionally, La Mar by Gaston Acurio will offer a special themed dish during October. The Pink Causa for a Cause (USD 19) is a terrine of potato puree plated in the shape of a ribbon, tinted pink by the addition of beets, and includes crabmeat, sunchokes, salmon, avocado, smoked trout roe and creamy huancaina sauce.

The hotel’s MO Bar + Lounge will serve breakfast croissants with pink strawberry-cream cheese filling, dipped in strawberry-scented white chocolate and finished with strawberry crispies for USD 6.  For evening time, guests can enjoy three new pink-themed cocktails featuring Clase Azul Tequila for USD 25.  A portion of proceeds of these offerings at La Mar by Gaston Acurio and MO Bar + Lounge  will also benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
